Never before have good medical skills been in such high demand for those wishing to pursue a career as a Close Protection Officer. Are your medical skills up to it? Have you got the required certification to prove this? Does your CV stand out from the rest?
The FPOS (I) is a significant step up from the First Aid at Work award that is the level that all SIA Close Protection Officers should be aiming for. The FPOS (I) is not a basic qualification, it is qualification that introduces the responder to patient care and observations. It is the qualification accepted by community response schemes and is in use by blue light responders on 999 calls. Within the security industry, many employers are now asking for the FPOS (I) as the minimum requirement when looking for key personnel. During our training courses students are taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency.
Cannulation and Intubation?
These subjects are not covered on our FPOS (I) Course and they should not be covered on anyone else’s FPOS(I) course either! Be aware of being offered these courses and someone’s marketing suggesting that you will become a qualified surgeon within 4 days and be able to administer drugs – you will not and cannot. NHS Paramedics undergo a huge amount of training to get to the point where they can practice more advanced procedures. Take on board the lessons that we teach you, practice them regularly once you leave by becoming involved with the various responder schemes and stay up to date with your skills. Patient contact time is essential.
What’s in a name?
We are not going to come up some fancy name for our course and charge you a few hundred pounds more for the privilege! We are sure that calling it something like the PANTHER ® would not improve your skills anymore or make you a foot taller, all it will do is add an irrelevant line to your CV.

Post Course Support
Many training providers have been criticised over the years for not offering post course support and quite rightly so. At Argus Europe we embrace post course support and have set up a group for Argus students only. In addition to this we recognise the popularity and convenience of social media and to that end we also have a Facebook group that all course students are encouraged to join. These networking areas allow us to advise and also place up valuable employment leads and other industry relevant information such as legislative changes.
