Btec Level 3 in Close Protection Operations (SIA) & Btec Level 3 in Advanced Surveillance

Our Close Protection course is 20 days in total and also offers students the opportunity to gain a Btec Level 3 Award in Advanced Surveillance along with the 4 day First Person on The Scene FPOS (I) course . Like all of our courses this course includes a large element of practical training interspersed at various points with necessary classroom based lectures. We cover all of the basic modules as stipulated by the SIA along with advanced training that the instructors feel is invaluable to the CPO. Our course also covers elements that allow the student to navigate their way effectively in to the Close Protection "circuit". In addition to this anyone who attends one of our courses is entitled to join the "Argus Group" an online networking facility where employment vacancies are posted and various industry related discussions take place. This is an extremely useful resource for those new to the industry and experienced operators alike.

Btec Level 3 in Advanced Surveillance

Our Surveillance Course is very much practical. We do not believe in sitting in a classroom and talking about surveillance, we get on the ground and carry out realistic and demanding exercises which are initially instructor led. As the course students become more and more capable we hand over to the students; we are of course there in the background to step in if required. This course is demanding, we carry out long days, there will be some classroom work on an evening but you will find it immensely satisfying. Many CPO's who have not conducted any surveillance training previously attend this course to increase their 3rd party awareness and also gain another skill set in these economically challenging times.

Btec Level 2 FPOS (I)

Never before have medical skills been in such high demand for those wishing to pursue a career as a Close Protection Officer. Employees realise the value of good quality training and having their people as multi-skilled operators with the ability to offer good First Person On the Scene medical skills makes their package more attractive to potential clients. Are your medical skills up to it? Have you got the required certification to prove this? Does your CV stand out from the rest? 

The FPOS (I) is a significant step up from the First Aid at Work award that is the basic level for allSIA Close Protection Officers, this is something that the security industry recognises.  Many employers are now asking for the FPOS (I) as the minimum requirement when looking for key personnel. During our training courses students are taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency.

All Argus Europe  Close Protection students are put through our own in house FPOS (I) Course. Those who successfully complete the course will be awarded the Edexcel Btec Level II Certification at no extra cost to themselves. Like all of the courses we offer there is very much a practical element to this course which is backed up by interesting classroom sessions taught by our experienced medical professionals. 

Btec Level 3 in Private Investigation

Private Investigation covers a variety of areas including surveillance, open source intelligence gathering, process serving, statement taking, locus reports, setting up your own investigation business, law & legislation and more. The various modules that you will undertake will give you a more rounded skill set than merely being surveillance trained alone and enable you to do more for your potential clients.

Taking & Editing Video Footage

Being a competent surveillance operator is about so much more than having good practical foot and mobile surveillance skill; taking good quality footage and editing it is one such skill. Many surveillance taskings, especially those that involve insurance fraud rely on the team being able to take good footage and then edit that footage in to a presentable package to supply your client with and that is what you will learn on this course. We will not teach you surveillance on this course, you must arrive suitably trained but what we will do  is show you how to be effective with the equipment that is commonly used to achieve such results. You will form part of a team with the your sole objective being to capture good quality footage and then edit that footage together to tell a story and demonstrate your subjects physical abilities.
